Band 7 rule: Every body paragraph must include a clear reason, deeper explanation, a real example, and a result (impact).
1) Introduction template (2–3 sentences)
It is often argued that [TOPIC]. While some people believe [OTHER VIEW], I completely agree/disagree that [YOUR VIEW] because [REASON 1] and [REASON 2].
2) Body paragraph template (REER)
The primary reason why I support this view is that [REASON]. This means that [EXPLANATION]. For example, [SPECIFIC EXAMPLE]. As a result, [RESULT/IMPACT].
3) Conclusion template (1–2 sentences)
In conclusion, I firmly believe that [YOUR VIEW] because [REASON 1] and [REASON 2].
Band 7 linking words
- Furthermore / Moreover (instead of “and”)
- Therefore / Consequently (instead of “so”)
- Since / Due to the fact that (instead of “because”)
- A significant number of (instead of “many”)
- Substantial (instead of “big”)
Common band-5 mistakes
- Changing opinion in the middle
- Too general: “It is good/bad”
- No example
- Repeating the same words
- Conclusion adds a new idea
Fast idea trick: Write one cause + one effect + one example. That’s enough for Band 7 development.
